First of all, it is so. hot. in DC today – almost 100 degrees!! It feels horrible outside. Boo.
So now that that’s out of the way…
I woke up ready to start fresh after some very foolish behavior this weekend! Before heading to the gym I had 2 dates stuffed with a tsp. of peanut butter. Maybe if I put the dates in the fridge I’ll enjoy them more? They lack the chew I’m looking for in my dried fruit. Oh well, still not bad.
You’ll also notice I drank a giant glass of water. Very important to stay hydrated on a day like today!
I did a very sweaty 30 minutes on the elliptical, 15 minutes on a stationary bike and about 20 minutes of abs, arms and stretching. I think I sweat all of this weekend’s bad decisions out of me and felt much better on my walk out the door! ha.
Once home I wanted nothing but fruit and yogurt! Perfect dish on a hot, hot day.
In the bowl:
- 1/2 cup Fage 2%
- 1 tbsp. ground flax
- a drizzle of honey
- 1/2 a mango, chopped
- 1/2 cup Whole Foods cinnamon squares – my new fave
- 1 tbsp. coconut
It was so so satisfying. Mango is fantastic right now! I also sipped a little Earl Grey with soy milk while I ate.
And there you have my Monday morning. A good start to what will hopefully be a much better week than last. I’m optimistic that good things are on their way :O).
