Oh Wednesday. This week is not moving very fast! Luckily I have fun plans tonight, so at least there’s that to look forward to :).
Another glorious 4 mile run this morning. In case you are wondering, I decided not to purchase a Garmin or any other distance monitoring device. After talking it over with a few people I decided that unless I plan on making distance running a habit, I can just wing it. Instead I bought a basic running watch and I will just assume I run 10 minute miles. So 4 miles = 40 minutes of running…and so on. In the meantime, I would rather spend my money on purses. And if I determine that I loved running a half-marathon so much I’m never going to stop, perhaps I’ll buy a Garmin then. But you know? We’ll see how it goes :).
After my run, it was time for a cool breakfast in front of my fan. I miss you oatmeal. I hate July.
But this wasn’t so bad! 1/2 cup of Vanilla Almond Bear Naked Granola, a sliced banana and a scoop of locally made ricotta with raspberry preserves. The ricotta and jam combo was seeeriously dreamy. I would like to have enough money to eat all local, all the time. What a difference!
So tonight my roommates and I are headed to Firefly for supper. Would you believe this is, in the year and a few months we’ve been living together, only our third meal out as a group!? We just looove roommate cook-ins so dining out is a rarity. And because that is the case, it feels like a real treat! I am kind of loving the dessert menu at Firefly, so I hope I get to sample its offerings :).
See ya with all the details tomorrow.

holy gracious. that dessert menu looks phenom! try some red velvet cake for me! 😉 ps- what are the taste differences between ricotta cheese and cottage? i<3 cottage but have yet to try ricotta!
Lucky duck going to that restaurant! I just looked at their menu. I would be all over the artisanal american cheese platter!!
Holy cow – a $17 dollar burger – but it sounds divine with the creamed spinach and au gratin potatoes.
HAVE FUN!
So are you going to get a new purse now? Haha!
Oh totally! haha
Can’t wait to hear about your dinner!! Looking forward to the review!
I’m going to firefly on Sunday–already made reservations. The menu does look amazing. FYI- sunday is their 1/2 off wine night, and you can BYOB all summer for a $3 corking fee.
Thank you for your tips! We utilized them all 🙂
oh and Wed. is ladies night!!! 1/2 off all drinks. 🙂 have fun
Have SO much fun tonight at dinner. Mid week plans always make the work week better. Beautiful breakfast. Love a great mix with a little of this and that. You should use mapmyrun! I haven’t invested in a garmin yet either!
I totally agree with you about the garmin thing. It’s not really worth it. Do you really care if you have negative splits?
If you want to know your mile markers try this

I find it better than map my run. Just set your lap once you hit each mile on your watch
Ha, I have to agree with you on the Garmin. I would much rather spend that money on purses. And shoes. And clothes. Clearly I have the shopping bug, lol.
That breakfast looks amazing! I’m especially drooling over the local ricotta. Yum!
I’m jealous of your night out. I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve had a night out with the girls!
YUM! Your breakfast looks great and the menu for dinner tonight looks amazing! Have fun!
Dinner sounds amazing! Have a great night out with your roomies!!
I know how you feel! I’m definitely not wishing the summer away, but I think about eating hot meals under piles of blankets wearing sweats and I get happy. But I’m determined to enjoy the summer first 🙂
And your breakfast looks fab!
Isn’t ricotta the best???! SO GOOD.
Have fun – can’t wait to hear about dinner!
I’ve trained for several races and still don’t own a Garmin – I enjoy running even more when there’s no stress of the time! 🙂
Hi! Beth. Missed you when you were off-blog. Have put on pounds READING your super recipes. I’m drooling now over the latest ones – and I’ve just had dinner!!! I now need your marathon training schedule. Can you imagine it? HA! HA! Love the apartment – want some interior shots too, please. I now have three soaps to watch EVERY night – Coronation Street (Corrie), Emmerdale and Beth’s blog – the blog is addictive and I read it even if it’s 11.00 p.m. or later. Keep up the good work and take care. LoL – A. Ruth x
Hi Aunty Ruth! Glad to hear you’ve been reading, it means a lot :). I’ll be sure to post some interior shots once we move in…and decorate! Take Care, Love Beth
