…in the words of Joelle!
Boy oh boy did that yoga make me sore. My upper body was just screaming yesterday! One of my issues with yoga in the past has been that I never feel like I get much of a work out and often wind up bored during the practice. That was certainly not the case with Sunday’s session! I’m glad I’ve finally found a class that can live up to all this yoga hype :).
Yoga has been recommended to me over and over as a way to work on my left shoulder, where I have a lot of pain issues. Based on how my shoulders were feeling yesterday I can see yoga did a great job of pulling them back and stretching them out which is so key for someone who works at a desk all day.
Now if only it weren’t so expensive. A year-long membership to the yoga studio is $1295!! Shoot me. Please tell me this is only because I’m in DC.
The good news is it’s my birthday next month! If you were looking to spend just over a grand, I have a gift idea for you :).
So after Sunday my body wasn’t really in the mood to do much of anything last night. It was freezing but I bundled up and headed outside since a walk was about the only activity that sounded appealing! I walked for about 45 minutes then rolled my shoulders around on my yoga tune up balls. If you have any sort of sore muscle issues I SO recommend these little balls. They seriously feel like a deep-tissue massage and it. is. incredible. 🙂
And then, some dinner.
An andouille chicken sausage, red pepper, banana pepper and carrot stir-fry over brown rice, topped with basil chevre and salsa. So delightful. Like my new bowl? I got it from Crate and Barrel this weekend as I’m trying to start a collection of pretty blog-worthy plates/bowls etc. 🙂 I loved how this collection was all uneven around the edges. Imperfect things are so much more interesting, no??
So that’s it for me today. I’ll see you all tomorrow!
Yoga is SO expensive eh? That’s why I do yoga at home or at my gym (which actually has a really impressive and extensive selection of classes). Here in Windsor a 1 yr membership will set you back $750-$800 (about double the cost of my gym membership), but cost of living in Windsor is ridiculously cheap in general.
It is scary expensive to do yoga in this city- but a lot of studios have killer intro deals, like 10 days of yoga for 10 dollars or unlimited month for 50. Also, I snag like every yoga groupon I see. 1295 is sooo not happening for me!
That is a pretty awesome stirfry!! You may have inspired my dinner 😀 And yes, I am writing about dinner at 8:50 AM. I like to think ahead, lol.
Yoga is expensive in CLE, too. We should go to a class when you’re in town!
Yes! I’m totally on board with that idea :).
Yoga is really expensive, thats why I prefer to go it at home.
I LOVE love yoga and have been having the most amazing practices. If you’re looking for a hard work out focus on ashtanga yoga…I used to belong to Flow on P st. and it was a great studio but hard to get to for us. 🙂 Oh and I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who signs up for a whole year! I think month-to-month is the norm…it’s hard to part with that much money at once.
I think that is a wise plan! Parting with $150 doesn’t seem nearly as bad. Even if I have to do it several times a year!
mmmm you can cook me dinner anytime!
haha 🙂
xo.
I’ve never been to hot yoga before but I love the feeling a good workout gives me!
I always felt the same way about yoga. Once I found hot yoga- I was sold!! What a yummy dinner. I need more stir fry in my life! And I love having a variety of dishes. It does make blog pictures more exciting 😉
I’m guessing yoga is that expensive everywhere…it’s about the same here in rochester ny (which is no where near the size of DC!). It’s like $17 for a drop in class.
I do way better when I go to a class…but I try to supplement with yoga glo online—great streaming videos!
I love rustic bowls, and I love green. Win!
I told my mom she could pay for my yoga studio membership this year, but I haven’t gotten around to making the 2-block walk over there yet! Haha.
